Abstract

Typical performance data from a 1-kHz CO2 laser are discussed. Pulse energies in excess of 250 mJ at repetition rates up to 1000 Hz were obtained from a 1- × 1- × 50-cm active volume. Long-term operation (>15 min) was demonstrated at a repetition rate of 400 Hz.
