Abstract

In this paper we describe the fabrication of a Mach-Zehnder-type interferometer in La and Ga substituted YIG film grown by the liquid phase epitaxial method. The 3-D channel was made by the rib guide which was formed on the epitaxially grown film by incompletely removing the film by ion-beam sputtering. The operation of the interferometer was confirmed at a 1.15-μm wavelength using a He–Ne laser.
