Abstract

The aberration of Selfoc lenses induced by deviation from the desired refractive-index distribution was markedly decreased by choosing suitable glass compositions and ion exchange process parameters. Glass materials and the lens fabrication process and focusing properties of the aberration-improved Selfoc lenses are described.
