Abstract

A real-time scanning method for color images that uses a single one-color laser is described. The image is first encoded by a modified γ-Ruticon erasable image buffer into three superimposed surface relief images that represent the red, green, and blue color separations of the original. The laser scans the surface relief images and generates three simultaneous video signals that correspond, point by point, to the three-color separations of the original image.
