Test chamber with the eye inserted. The observation window is a flat glass pane through which the holographic interference pattern is recorded. The chamber is filled with physiological saline. The vinyl tube is connected to a manometer to change the intraocular pressure.

Each fringe corresponds to a displacement of 0.24 μm of the sclera in the direction of the visual axis (front to back) of the eye. The relative displacements of the various fringes for the lines A-A′ and B-B′ are plotted in Fig. 3. The optic nerve head is located at the intersection of A-A′ and B-B′.
