Abstract
The problem was to make an 18-in. (45-cm) diam integrating sphere in two halves, each 9-in. diam, with a polished nickel surface. Two aluminum castings were machined on—of all places—a Blanchard curve generator. Don't forget that your Blanchard makes a fine vertical lathe. Several interesting additions to the Blanchard are described.
