Abstract

Generation of efficient mode-controlled emission with optically pumped laser systems requires a special resonator configuration in combination with an efficient pump system that homogeneously pumps the active medium. Several pump systems were investigated for their qualification. As a result an improved version of an elliptical cylinder system turned out to be favorable. Highly reproducible fundamental mode emission with a pulsed YAG laser system could be achieved.
