Abstract

Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, offers a course of study leading to the AAS in Optical Technology. This curriculum arose out of a regional need which is really, the author believes, an industry-wide critical area. Background, philosophy, details, and some socioeconomic effects of such a program are discussed.
