Primum Non Torquere - Photon Orbital Angular Momentum in Astronomy

Abstract

In this review paper, photon orbital angular momentum (POAM) is described in terms of semi-classical observables, calculi, and metrics. I show that existing instruments, such as coronagraphs and interferometers, manipulate POAM. Possible future uses for POAM are discussed.
