Abstract
This paper presents the results of theoretical investigations of how the porosity of films and the surface roughness of substrates affects the spectral responses of antireflection coatings. Estimates are given of the actually achieved transmittance and reflectance values of antireflection coatings as a function of the open porosity of the films and the polishing quality of the substrate surfaces.
