Abstract

This paper presents the results of an analysis of the lidar equation for lidars with linear frequency modulation (LFM) of the subcarriers. Photoresistor operation in the radio-heterodyning regime is analyzed. It is shown that the radio-heterodyning regime makes it possible to reduce the threshold power of the detectable signals by several orders of magnitude and consequently to enhance the energy characteristics of lidars with LFM of the subcarriers in the IR range.
