The effect of plastic strain on the absorption spectrum of germanium crystals

Abstract

This paper shows that the plastic strain of germanium crystals changes their absorption spectrum in the entire transmission region. These changes are ascribed to the influence of strain on three light-absorption mechanisms: direct interband, direct intraband, and free-carrier absorption.
