Abstract

This paper presents the optical layouts and calculated characteristics of compact fast mirror–lens objectives with an entrance aperture of 500 mm, an f number of 1.2, and an angular field of 1.5° for operation in the ranges 1.8–2.6 and 3.2–4.2 mm. The objectives are about 430 and 460 mm long. Estimates are made of how the circle of confusion is affected by deformation of the entrance window and the secondary mirror under the action of its own weight, as well as by temperature changes of the elements of the objectives in the interval from 250 to 150 °C.
