Abstract

This paper analyzes the present status of developments of polarimetric transformers of electric current using an optical fiber as the sensitive element. It proposes a method of measuring an ac current based on the processing of two pairs of light signals. An experimental comparison is made of the proposed algorithm and known signal-processing algorithms. It is shown that the proposed method has advantages under real operating conditions, taking into account temperature and polarization fluctuations in the fiber.
