Abstract

Efficient laser generation has been obtained from xanthene dyes impregnated into modified polymethyl methacrylate. The stability is good, supporting extended operating lifetime. We discuss the mechanisms responsible for photobleaching and conversion efficiency of these dyes in polymer matrices.
