Abstract
We report an analysis of the statistical behavior of light scattered from electrohydrodynamic fluctuations in a nematic liquid crystal (MBBA) and a comparison with the statistics of the light scattered from a rotating ground-glass disk. In both cases, the statistical behavior changes when the dimension of the lighted spot is comparable with the correlation length of scattering inhomogeneities.
