Abstract

The optical constants of single-crystal Ti (0001) and W (110) and polycrystalline W and Ti have been measured as functions of temperature at two wavelengths (5461 and 6328 Å). The crystals were cleaned by ion bombardment and annealed to remove surface damage and bombardment impurities. The degree of surface contamination was monitored by Auger spectroscopy.
