Design of Plane Mirror Systems

Abstract

It is shown that the rotation of an optical image by a system of plane mirrors relates directly to the angles between the successive planes into which the optical axis reflects. This permits simpler visualization of mirror systems and rapid design of such systems for particular image rotations. Tables of the rotation are presented in terms of angles easily measured and specified in the laboratory.
