Abstract

The first results of a continuing analysis of the Ce I spectrum show the ground level to be 4f 5d 6s2 1G4°, with gJ=0.945. Of fifteen low odd levels for which the energies, J and g values are given, seven have been assigned to 4f 5d 6s2 and five to 4f 5d2 6s.
