Abstract

The first results of a continuing analysis of the Ce I spectrum show the ground level to be 4f 5d 6s^{2 1}G₄°, with g_J=0.945. Of fifteen low odd levels for which the energies, J and g values are given, seven have been assigned to 4f 5d 6s² and five to 4f 5d² 6s.
