Abstract

We demonstrate optical frame timing recovery in a three-node time-multiplexed wavelength-division-multiplexing (T-WDM) ring network. Bit-error-rate performance indicates no significant degradation is introduced by optically recovered frame timing or switching operation based on it. The T-WDM ring network also demonstrates that utilizing network structures in conjunction with optical techniques can provide advanced network signaling and control functions such as addressing and grooming.
