In-Channel OSNR and BER Measurement Using Temporal Superresolution Via Dynamic Range Conversion

Abstract

This paper presents a novel technique for obtaining super resolution using dynamic range conversion. The concept allows using low-rate electronics and a high dynamic range detector for extracting bit error rate and in-channel optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) for high-rate signals.
