Quantum-secure authentication of a physical unclonable key

Abstract

Modern society strongly relies on authentication methods for securing objects such as bank cards and passports. Current authentication methods typically rely on keeping information about the key secret. When attackers obtain all information about a key, they can physically copy or digitally emulate the key. It is notoriously difficult to guarantee secrecy of information, and therefore also to guarantee security of such a key.
