Thousand-port optical packet switch architecture with highly distributed control

Abstract

We present an optical packet switch architecture with highly distributed control and contention resolution based on wavelength conversion. Sub-microsecond end-to-end latency and high load operation are feasible while scaling to over thousand ports.
