Abstract

As Fibre Bragg Gratings are used in more and more demanding applications it is necessary to design higher specification devices that are practically realisable under the constraints of the fabrication process. Differing design approaches applied to the same spectral response specification will give rise to designs that differ in relation to how easily they can be fabricated. In this work we experimentally compare different design approaches for multichannel filters which are commonly needed for many applications.
