Abstract

A new method for absolute analysis in Electrothermal Atomization Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (ETA-AAS), proposed for aqueous solutions, is extended to matrix modifiers based on palladium and magnesium. The experimental results show that only the Pd-based matrix modifier can be accepted for Pb analysis. No differences have been found if tantalum is used instead of graphite as the atomization surface in the same experimental conditions.
