Bandwidth measurement of high-resolution Fabry-Perot etalons

Abstract

A sensitive measurement technique to determine the absolute optical bandwidth of high-resolution interferometers is demonstrated. The technique is based on the Doppler shift of a single-mode laser output. Results of the bandwidth measurement of a 10-MHz interferometer are presented.
