Theory for gradient-index imaging

Not Accessible

Abstract

Results of wave optics and ray optics are summarized to make a convenient and self-consistent expression for gradient-index imaging. By applying the theory, a limit of the transmitted spatial frequency and focused spot is obtained. An optimum design of a light focuser for a video disk is demonstrated.
