Abstract

The design and performance of a small multipass CO2 laser system that has been fully stabilized against parasitic oscillations are described. By the use of a multicomponent gas isolator mixture, the round-trip small-signal gain of the system is reduced to zero, while the output power remains at 40% of its nonstabilized value.
