Optically Controlled Wavelength Tunable Fused Fiber Coupler

Abstract

We demonstrate an optically controlled tunable fiber coupler based on a polymer coating with embedded carbon nanoparticles. Refractive index changes generated in the coating via photothermal effects yield wavelength tuning using optical signals.
