Dispersion characteristics of polygonal core optical fiber and its fabrication

Abstract

Optical fibers with non-circular core were fabricated with triangular, square, and pentagonal shape core. Their waveguide properties were studied by mode analysis using FEM in terms of effective refractive index and chromatic dispersion.
