Abstract
Optical fibers for transmission have become a commodity in current optical communication. Special functions have been adopted and built in optical fiber structures for sensing and imaging applications as well as optical communications in recent years. In this talk, a hollow optical fiber, composed of single central air hole, one ring core, and silica cladding, will be reviewed in terms of its versatile applications in communication, sensing, and laser beam-shaping.
