Silica Hollow Core Fibers for Mid-IR Wavelengths

Not Accessible

Abstract

Silica-based fibers can be used at infra-red wavelengths to beyond 4μm by using hollow-core designs, giving attenuation up to 10,000× less than the material absorption. We describe the current performance limits in this spectral range.
