Determination of mode-projected electron-phonon coupling from time-domain observations of microscopic scattering processes

Abstract

Using a femtosecond extreme ultraviolet source with a narrow linewidth, we observe electrons in graphite scattering with the A1' phonon from optically-populated initial states to well-defined final states, and extract the electron-phonon matrix element.
