Abstract

Ultrafast, broadband transient absorption spectroscopy of 4′-methoxy-3-hydroxyflavone reveals the solvent influence on the ESIPT reaction kinetics, most likely via intermolecular H-bonding. The compound is a promising fluorescent probe for protein structure sensing.
