Ultrafast Laser Induced Inner Shell Excitations by Electron Recollision

Abstract

By using a few cycles 1800nm source, we demonstrated the possibility to excite inner-shell electrons in a sub-femtosecond time scale, using the recolliding electron. It might provide the necessary "pump" step for "pump-probe" studies.
