Ultrafast Surface Magnetoelastic Waves

Abstract

Surface magnetoelastic waves are generated using the all-optical transient grating technique. We measure the structural and magnetic degrees of freedom independently and demonstrate resonant excitation of magnetization precession by elastic waves.
