Ultrafast Dynamics of Individual, Isolated Nanoparticles and Nanoplasmas in Intense Laser Fields

Abstract

We combine an aerodynamic lens with a velocity-map-imaging spectrometer to make the first measurements of shock wave generation and ultrafast dynamics in individual nanoplasmas, confirming a decade of theoretical predictions.
