3-D magnetization and anisotropy dynamics in thin iron films studied with time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect

Abstract

We investigated the three-dimensional dynamics of the magnetization vector launched by a short laser pulse in thin Fe films. Our experiment provides the direct evidence of the phenomenological mechanism triggering the magnetization precession.
