Abstract

Exploiting ultrabroadband THz spectroscopy, we study the coupled phonon-plasmon system in photoexcited InP in the extreme non-equilibrium. The ultrafast buildup of many-particle correlations leads to the formation of hybrid excitations on the femtosecond time scale.
