Femtosecond photo-induced dissociation of the trihalide anions I3- and I2Br in solution

Abstract

We present the results of 390 nm photo-induced dissociation of I3- and I2Br- in methanol- and acetonitrile solution. Measurements indicate solvent dependence of vibrational coherence and a noticeable spin-orbit mixing for the diiodide fragment.
