Generation of a Single-Cycle Optical Pulse

Abstract

We report generation of a train of single-cycle optical pulses. Phase-adjusting Raman sidebands from 1.6 µm to 410 nm, produces a waveform having pulsewidth, 1.5 fs; period, 11 fs; and peak power, 1 MW.
