Octave spanning Femtosecond Laser at GHz repetition rates

Abstract

A 5-element Ti:sapphire femtosecond oscillator with GHz repetition rate is reported whose spectrum ranges from approximately 560 nm to 1150 nm. Key element is a slightly convex cavity mirror. Accurate and broadband GDD control is not required.
