Photoinduced electron transfer in dye/semiconductor systems on a sub-10-fs time scale

Abstract

Pump-probe investigation of alizarin adsorbed on the surface of TiO2 colloids reveals a 6 femtosecond electron transfer from the dye molecule to the semiconductor surface, allowing to identify the key factors for this ultrafast electron transfer.
