Sub-picosecond room-temperature dynamics of photoinduced magnetooptical Kerr effect in cadmium telluride

Abstract

The room-temperature spin dynamics in CdTe around the band-gap has been studied using time-dependent magneto-optical Kerr spectroscopy. A spectral dependency transformation from paramagnetic to diamagnetic behaviour within the first 600 femtoseconds is discussed.
