Separating Inertial and Diffusive Rotation and Solvation for a Nonpolar Solute

Abstract

Femtosecond heterodyned dichroism measurements of anthracene solutions cleanly separate times for diffusive and inertial rotation and diffusive and inertial solvation. Comparisons are made to theory and to other solvation experiments.
