A prism-pair-formed pulse shaper compresses optical pulses to the 6-fs regime

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the first programmable optical pulse compression to 6 fs using a prism-pair-formed pulse shaper with a spatial light modulator. This method manifests the potential to compress pulses to the one-cycle regime.
