Abstract

A technique for single-shot generation of the local spectrum of an ultrashort laser pulse is demonstrated. The method is based on the time gating of a spectrally decomposed wave and allows reconstruction of pulse complex amplitude profile and real-time visualization of the signal. We apply the technique to the analysis of the output of a mode-locked oscillator and a regenerative amplifier.
