Abstract

Free-space electro-optic field sensors have be used to characterize the temporal, spectral, and spatial distribution of freely propagating terahertz beams (THz beams). This detection system, which uses an electro-optic crystal sensor, provides diffraction-limited spatial resolution, femtosecond temporal resolution, DC-THz spectral bandwidth, and a sub-mV/cm field detectability.
