Abstract

We present designs and output characteristics for Optically Pumped Semiconductor Disk Lasers (OPDSLs) in the NIR spectral region, aimed for high efficiency and output power. Design optimization takes into account the active region and the integrated distributed Bragg reflector (DBR). Overall efficiencies well above 40% are demonstrated.
