Two-photon emission in direct-gap semiconductors

Abstract

We performed a theoretical study of extreme nondegenerate two-photon stimulated emission in direct-bandgap semiconductors. We predict orders of magnitude enhancement with respect to the degenerate case. Evidence in support of this comes from 2-photon absorption measurements.
